Pricing up your film
“I would watch it every day if I could. It’s not like other wedding films we have seen: it’s short enough not to bore people, and long enough to be a wonderful summary of the best day ever.” Lucy & Ed
What will it cost?
Unlike other film companies, I don’t offer fixed packages so that my service to you is as flexible as possible. Instead, I charge an hourly fee which means you can have me at your event for as little or as long as you choose, and you can ask me to create as short or as long a film as you want. It’s down to your needs and your budget. For details of my corporate prices, please click here.
Filming and editing your event, such as a wedding
My hourly rate to attend your event is £50. So, for example, if you wanted me to be with you for 7 hours on the day, then my fee would be 7 x £50, which in this instance would come to £350.
I have more than 13 years television experience working at one of the world’s leading broadcasters. There, we work on the basis that it takes one hour to edit every minute of a film. So if you wanted a 30 minute DVD, my editing fee would be 30 x £50, which in this instance would come to £1,500.
So the total cost of a seven hour shoot and a 30 minute film would be £1,850. But I can be completely flexible about the hours attended and your film duration.
To cover travel and fuel costs, I charge half my hourly rate, £25 per hour.
Wedding films will be completed within four weeks.
For a corporate quote please send me an email or give me a call.
Editing footage you have filmed
If I am editing some of your own material, perhaps for a child’s first year on film, a birthday party or an event you attended, I charge the same hourly rate. So for instance, if you wanted an eight minute film, it would be 8 x £50.
One of the things we would discuss if you booked me for a film would be the amount of footage you intended to supply. A small additional charge may be made if you wanted me to view and make use of an excessive amount of material.
Examples using clients’ footage include “One year on film” or “Family holiday on VHS”
Extras
Honeymooners’ viewing
If you are planning to go on honeymoon immediately after your wedding and you don’t want to wait four weeks to see the finished DVD, then you might like to log on to my website from wherever you are in the world to see your film just four days after the event.
An individual client password would give you privileged access to the finished film. This is charged at £199.
Separate speeches DVD
To keep my films pacey, I include tightly edited highlights of the speeches. However, most of my clients like to have the speeches in full on a separate DVD. This is charged at £199.
Extra copies of your film
The price includes three copies of the film. Extra copies cost £10 for the edited film, and £15 if you are having a boxed set of the edited film and the separate speeches DVD.
Unedited footage
Once I have edited the film, I can send you the raw unedited material on Mini DV tape. This is charged at £50.
